I particularly like the alliteration in this. Is this in the middle of the night, or more towards daybreak? Over here, it’s raccoons you’re likely to hear–or neighbourhood cats.
Often around dusk, the foxes come close to the house and cause the odd skip of the heart. I’m never sure whether alliteration is the thing in haiku but if the word works, wear it (sorry) 🙂

Noisy things when mating. It hasn’t started near us yet, but I think our garden is a bit of a Lover’s Lane for foxes.
They do tend to get enthusiastic, oh the joys of the countryside!
Ours are urban foxes!
