A tale of urban survival
Thriving in the environmentally impoverished boundary between the tarmacadamed forecourt and the demarcating brickwork of the porch step, a baker’s dozen of summer-yellow flowers flounce in the light breeze.

This made me think of a sight near my house, a giant and healthy sycamore set in the maybe 5 ft wide gap between the back of a building and a concrete wall, and looking happy about things, despite the not-so-great location it has been living in all this time. Love to see things like that.
Wonder if it dreams of forests, or is it too street wise? Sycamores fit in anywhere.
Yes, they do. We had two in the back yard of our previous house; I have seen them by creeks, in fields, and they are often planted at street trees in the city. This guy looked like he chose his own spot – I’d say the buildings were built afterward but not too long so that he has aged along with them. Now I’ll be watching this tree!
Great, give it hug from me, I have a passion for trees, esp ones with character.
Like! 🙂
