I’ve never been into Dexter’s books, perhaps time for another try. ‘Morse’ and ‘Endeavour’ characters, though, are brilliant and I regularly re-run their series.
Yes, a gruesome library murder as I remember. I read that Endeavour is to become a ‘bit of a cad’ as things move on but the senior Morse was no angel. John Thaw cut his rascal detective teeth in ‘The Sweeny’ , very eighties.

That last episode of the most recent season of âEndeavourâ was really something.

I know of him in âThe Sweeneyâ, but havenât really watched it. That episode, Deguello was like the showdown at the O.K. Corral.
As I remember it, there were very few firearms around at the time, a good tale though. Itâs back in the autumn, I believe.
