Yesterday I witnessed three sparrow hawk attacks within an hour; one unfortunate mouse, a somewhat plucked but fortunate collar dove and a lucky sparrow.

The Write Idea 
Didn’t think sparrow hawks were big enough to attack a dove. The only time I was a witness the sparrow made the mistake of flying into our glass door. The hawk dragged it off after a scuffle. It was rather unsettling.
It is a shocking sight. I’ve seen them kill wood pigeons and magpies, certainly punch way above their weight. A very efficiently evolved raptor.
What amazing things (although terrible) to witness.
Ounce for ounce they’re formidable. I once went eye to eye with an injured S H and the rage in her eyes was startling.
