such a little death
though not, of course, for the mouse
sparrow hawk’s swift swoop

Yesterday I witnessed three sparrow hawk attacks within an hour; one unfortunate mouse, a somewhat plucked but fortunate collar dove and a lucky sparrow.

Sadness

we sit together
his comforts are paramount
I’m a cat person

On a sad, the saddest note; neighbour’s cat takes his last trip to the vets tomorrow (Monday). He’s been suffering from a kidney disease for quite a while and it’s come to a head. As a regular visitor to my writing and a great character, I shall miss him.
