Pen pal friendships in my youth feel a bit like these types of social media friendships except they can give you a greater relationship through pictures.
True, I remember the magic of a letter from a friend in Nova Scotia many years ago.
I had one in California, and one in Hong Kong. Although, I did eventually get to meet the one in CA.
